This resolved case demonstrates how BRANCHES closes a hypothesis set when a future event occurs. On August 6 the showcase was scheduled; on August 27 Rockstar published it and described the footage as captured entirely in-game on PlayStation 5.

BRANCHES does not simply add support points to a favorite theory. The matrix emphasizes evidence that is inconsistent with a hypothesis, because evidence compatible with several explanations has weak discriminating value.
CASE BOUNDARY
Consistency is not proof, and state is not probability.
One evidence item may be consistent with several hypotheses at once. BRANCHES does not convert that into a probability and does not flatten primary evidence, bounded absence, reporting and community analysis into one weight.
