Preorder bonuses are where a simple purchase decision can turn into a mess of screenshots, retailer graphics and regional fine print. GTA VI is no different. The safest way to understand the bonus structure is to separate three things that often get mixed together: what every qualifying preorder receives, what a more expensive edition includes, and what a specific retailer may advertise on top. Rockstar’s own listing is the baseline. Everything else has to match it or be clearly labeled as retailer-specific.
The Vintage Vice City Pack is the central official preorder bonus
Rockstar’s current preorder campaign highlights the Vintage Vice City Pack as the major bonus tied to buying before the published cutoff. The pack is themed around the older neon-era identity of Vice City and is presented as a set of unique benefits rather than part of the base game. The important buying detail is that this is a timing bonus: it is connected to when you purchase, not simply to choosing the Ultimate Edition.
Digital preorders also include a month of GTA+
Rockstar’s preorder announcement says qualifying digital preorders include one month of GTA+. That benefit belongs to Rockstar’s existing subscription ecosystem and can be used before GTA VI launches. It should not be misread as confirmation of a GTA VI online product or as proof that GTA+ will be required for GTA VI. The bonus is a subscription promotion attached to the preorder, not a multiplayer announcement.
Edition bonuses are a different category
Ultimate Edition adds its own premium collection of vehicles, weapons, apparel and other content described by Rockstar as threaded across Jason and Lucia’s story. Those items are not “preorder bonuses” simply because many people will preorder the Ultimate Edition. They belong to the edition itself. Keeping that distinction clear matters because a player can choose Standard and still receive the qualifying preorder promotion, while another player can buy Ultimate later and receive the edition content without necessarily receiving a time-limited preorder extra.
Retailer bonuses should be verified retailer by retailer
A store may offer a gift card, loyalty points, delivery perk or local promotion. Those offers can be real without being Rockstar-wide benefits. If the bonus appears only on one retailer page, treat it as that retailer’s promotion until Rockstar or the platform store says otherwise. A reposted image with a cropped logo is not enough to tell you whether the offer applies to your country or account.
Region and account compatibility matter more than a flashy bonus
A discounted code or special bundle from another market can become a bad deal if your account cannot redeem it. PlayStation and Xbox both use regional storefronts and entitlement rules. Before choosing a seller for a bonus, verify that the code, edition and language package match the account region you actually use. Losing compatibility is not worth a small promotional item.
Do not confuse “while supplies last” with permanent edition content
Physical retailers sometimes use limited inventory language for collector packaging or local gifts. Digital edition benefits behave differently. Read the terms exactly as written: is the item part of the game edition, tied to a preorder date, restricted to a retailer, or available only until codes run out? Those are four different kinds of promise.
Preload is not itself a preorder bonus
Eligible digital purchases can preload starting November 12. That is a delivery feature designed to get the game onto your console before the November 19 unlock. It is useful, but it is not extra game content. Separating operational benefits from in-game bonuses makes the edition comparison much easier to understand.
What you should screenshot before buying
If a specific bonus matters to you, save the official store listing at the time of purchase along with your receipt. Promotions can change and product pages can be updated. A simple record gives you something concrete if the entitlement does not appear later. The official listing is also much stronger evidence than a social-media post when contacting platform support.
Which preorder extras materially change the purchase?
Start with Rockstar’s official preorder page, then check the PlayStation or Xbox listing for your region. Treat the Vintage Vice City Pack and the digital GTA+ month as preorder-related benefits, keep Ultimate Edition extras in their own category, and verify any retailer-only promotion separately. Buy the edition you actually want; do not let an unverified bonus make the decision for you.
